The Gaviota Coastal Trail Alliance currently serves as an unincorporated association, with the Gaviota Coastal Conservancy as its fiscal sponsor. Together with the following governing and supporting organizations, the Gaviota Coastal Trail Alliance seeks to develop a community-proposed plan to become the framework for a public access program at Hollister Ranch. 

The four governing organizations of the Gaviota Coastal Trail Alliance are:
